Timeline

I'm only 20, so this isn't too long of a timeline. Just enough information to get a sense of how I grew up, if that's your thing.

1999

Born in Lafayette, Louisiana.

I lived in Lafayette all my life. I was raised by my wonderful parents, Wendt and Christy. My father taught me to love computers and math, and I have been pursuing CS ever since.

2004-2017

Attended the Episcopal School of Acadiana in Cade, Louisiana.

I went to school from Pre-K4 to 12th grade at ESA. There, I developed a passion for learning and an itch for greatness. While in school, I also played a lot of sports (both for my school and for travel teams), including soccer, basketball, tennis, cross country, and track.

Summer of 2016

Cyber Security Intern at CirraGroup in Lafayette, Louisiana.

I was mostly involved in projects pertaining to penetration testing, log-in security, and API security. I learned a lot about UNIX and it has stuck with me ever since!

Summer of 2017

Software Development Intern at CirraGroup in Lafayette, Louisiana.

I worked on a couple of different projects, but my most important (and entertaining) project was developing an automated way to scan, compress, and store log files. It sounds terribly fun, I know. It was my first experience in AWS and I had a lot of fun learning the ins and outs of Lambda functions. I worked primarily in Node.js.

2017 - Present

Attending The University of Alabama as an Honors College undergraduate student.

I was skeptical about UA when I first applied. While I had other schools to choose from (Colorado School of Mines, for example), UA provided me with an amazing scholarship - the Presidential Scholarship - that I couldn't pass up. But once I arrived on campus, I realized my skepticism was misplaced. I loved everything about the culture here, and looked for more ways to broaden my horizons. I have grown as both an individual and a scholar here at UA, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to attend.

July 2020

Certified AWS Solutions Architect - Associate.

With the COVID-19 Pandemic, lots of internships, jobs, and other opportunities to expand my horizons were sadly cancelled. After finishing online classes in May, I decided to take it upon myself to advance my education outside of the classroom. So, with a little guidance from my father, I studied for and practied my skills to become an AWS Solutions Architect. In late July, I passed the AWS Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-02) exam.
